This spring, our top picks include, among others, the remarkable trench coat, animal print—specifically leopard—, an effortless dress, and a striking burgundy handbag, which is quickly becoming a must-have in everyone's wardrobe. Now that you've secured these must-have pieces, it's time to style them. And this is where your reliable wardrobe staples come into play. We love using the knitwear from Totême, flats from Le Monde Beryl, and any minimal shirt from our favourite designer brands such as Celine. For bags, our go-to brand Métier never lets us down.

The Classic Layered Trench Look

Spring season can be very unpredictable, especially with the UK weather. Therefore, our best tip is to go for layering. The hero piece for this look is the classic trench. This is the perfect transitional piece for spring. Keep the base layer simple, with a shirt, denim, or suit trousers. We pick up our favourite knit; lately, this has been the Totême one from our relove brand. Wear it on top of the base layer for chillier mornings, and when inside, you can easily take it off and style it on top of your shoulders. The finishing touch is a pair of loafers, which is one of our top picks when it comes to wearing flats, as they are comfortable as well as super chic.

Burgundy Highlight for Spring

Springtime and dresses go hand in hand. A classic monochrome dress is so effortless to wear and style. Complete the look with a pair of minimalist loafers or flats from Le Monde Beryl. Take the dress from day to evening with a blazer jacket for the daytime in the office, and then remove it, and you're ready for the evening. We're adding a pop of colour to this outfit by pairing it with a smaller handbag from Métier. Red was the colour of 2023; this year, however, we're going a bit deeper with the colour burgundy, which was seen everywhere on the runway.

Faithful Denim

We love using everyday basics as part of our outfit planning, so when we saw Kaia Gerber for YSL AW 23, rocking a white shirt with a simple pair of denim, we got super excited. Denim can very easily be styled up and down. For a more casual on-the-go look, we take inspiration from Caroline Bassett, styling it with an oversized sweater and some accessories to tie the look together. When we want to dress up, you can still easily keep it simple. This time, taking inspiration from Kaia, however, we swap out the flats for some heels, and we add on some more jewellery for that perfect evening look.

Animal Print

Although our classic white T-shirt remains irreplaceable, incorporating a touch of animal print can infuse charm and vivacity into any ensemble. Allow the leopard print to take centre stage and keep the rest of the outfit simple in style. To enhance the darker spots of the leopard print jacket, we pair it with black separates underneath and a lighter bag to add some contrast.
