You are involved in so many different projects - talk us through a typical day for you right now.

Every day is varied, but generally I’m up and drinking filtered water and lapsang tea from 7.30am, mornings are for all emails and reading any business articles pertaining to the industry that pique my interest. This of course changes if I’m needed in studio or on set. And occasionally, urgent meetings take place first thing. I tend to work out 4 times a week in the morning too, it’s a priority of mine. Midday into the afternoon is for either meetings or deeper work, usually a single project that takes a few hours to do. If there’s a blank space, this is when I like to go to an exhibition - mid-week as it’s less busy. I’m a homebody, so I prefer to make food at home and have people come over. If I go out I encourage whoever I’m with to go to Rochelle Canteen, Rita’s dining or cafe Cecilia as they source good quality and seasonal ingredients. Dates are for Spring, as Skye is a genius.



When did you first know you wanted to work in fashion?

Maybe it was an instinct when I was 3 months old and at my first John Galliano show…. ?! I rebelled as a teenager and swore against it, angling for a separation from my mother. But after leaving school I moved to NYC and was a stylist’s assistant. Truthfully, I’d clocked in many hours as an accidental apprentice by that point, having been fortunate enough to be on set and backstage at shows for the majority of my life when not at boarding school. Fashion has never really left my side.



What is in your capsule wardrobe?

Long black tshirts in various fabrics and weights. SYLVA top and leggings. www.officialsylva.com

Various imitations of an Ann Demeulemeetser long black dress - including the new SYLVA prototype….. An array of low slung black trousers (not jeans). Manolo Blahnik heels and a coat by Jonathan Anderson (JW or Loewe).
